The Tennessee Nuclear Energy Advisory Council (TNEAC) identified supporting TVA’s deployment of a small modular reactor at the Clinch River Nuclear site as a priority in our Preliminary Report (December 2023). To that end, the TNEAC commissioned the University of Tennessee Baker School of Public Policy & Public Affairs to produce an assessment on the “Economic Impacts of Construction and Operation of a Small Modular Reactor in Tennessee.” The findings of the Baker School’s SMR Economic Impact Assessment (EIA) follow here and provide valuable information to the TNEAC as it drafts its Final Report.
