2025 Graduate Spotlight: Caroline Grossman
Caroline Grossman is graduating with a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences and a minor in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. While her post-graduation plans are still taking shape, Caroline hopes to join Teach for America and eventually pursue a master’s degree in educational policy.
Throughout her time at the University of Tennessee, Caroline built an impressive record of leadership and service. She served as a resident assistant and the resident assistant liaison for the Howard Baker Living Learning Community. She earned the Power T Award for Promoting Safe and Healthy Lifestyles and the Volunteer of Distinction Award from the Provost’s Office. Her involvement extended across campus and the Knoxville community, including an internship with the Knox County School Board, serving as the Academic Team Lead for the Honors Student Engagement Council, and participating in the First-Year Leadership Council within the Student Government Association.
One person who made a lasting impression on Caroline’s journey was Assistant Director of Student Success Jordan Smith-Porter. “Jordan Smith-Porter helped me land my dream job as an intern for the Knox County School Board,” she said. “It is because of him that I have had the senior year of my dreams.”
Looking back, Caroline credits the Baker School with opening doors she never knew existed. Through the Institute Fellows and the local government intern program, she gained valuable experience and insights that have helped shape her goals and inspire her future.
