2025 Graduate Spotlight: Ethan Curl
Ethan Curl is on track to earn his Master of Public Policy and Administration (MPPA) from the Baker School at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Originally from Franklin, Tennessee, Ethan has his sights set on Washington, D.C., where he plans to launch his career on Capitol Hill or at a nonpartisan think tank.
Reflecting on his time in the MPPA program, Ethan calls his experience in the Japan Ambassadors Program a standout memory. “I have learned so much and developed the skillset to be confident in whatever my future work might be,” he shares. He credits the program not only with equipping him professionally but also with helping him build lasting connections with classmates and faculty. Professors such as Dr. Su Su, Dr. Krista Weigand, Dr. Tim Ezzel, Assistant Director for Graduate Operations Zoe Webb, and Assistant Director of Student Success Jordan Smith-Porter have played a meaningful role in his journey at the Baker School.
With a new degree and a strong foundation of experience, Ethan is well-prepared to take on the next chapter, making an impact wherever he lands.
