2025 Graduate Spotlight: Jaycee Culbertson

2025 Graduate Spotlight: Jaycee Culbertson

May 15, 2025

Graduating with a Master of Public Policy and Administration, Jaycee Culbertson plans to enter the workforce and take a gap year before further pursuing her education.

Her time at the Baker School broadened her understanding of policy. A standout experience for Jaycee was Dr. Michael Jones’ class on ethics, where she explored controversial topics and developed critical thinking skills. Jaycee’s involvement in extracurricular activities, such as University of Tennessee’s women’s rugby club and water polo intramurals, further enriched her graduate experience.

As she prepares to enter the workforce, Jaycee reflects on the guidance and independence she gained through her academic journey. “It has allowed me to further grasp the understanding of policy and how it interacts with it in a multitude of fields. It also progressed my understanding of statistics and how to apply information to legal matters.”

Jaycee said Dr. Jones made  a lasting impact on her Baker School experience. His encouragement and guidance led her down the right path with her project. As Jaycee enters the workforce, she brings a strong commitment to making a meaningful contribution in her field.
