Jack Mewhirter is an associate professor at the Baker School. He is a policy process researcher whose work delves into the origins of societal problems, the development of policy tools used to correct such problems, the organizations responsible for policy implementation, the factors that impact organizational effectiveness, and the evaluation of policy outcomes. His work is anchored in two primary themes. First, he explores how policy actors self-organize within complex systems to tackle interconnected issues that cross traditional political and geographic boundaries. Second, he focuses on the evaluation of public policies of critical public importance. His research spans various policy domains, including environmental, policing, health, and security policy.
