Timothy Fitzgerald is an associate professor at the Howard H. Baker Jr. School of Public Policy and Public Affairs at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and an economist specializing in resource and energy economics, with research spanning market structure, regulatory design, and the intersection of energy development and land use. He currently chairs the Physical Infrastructure Subcommittee of the Energy and Environmental Markets Advisory Committee at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Previously, he served as an Associate Professor at Texas Tech University, as Senior Economist and Chief International Economist at the White House Council of Economic Advisers, and as a fellow at Resources for the Future in Washington, DC, and the Property and Environment Research Center in Bozeman, MT.
