Internal Transfer Students

Current Student Interested in Public Affairs?

Current UTK students who want to switch their major to public affairs or add a double major are required to attend an academic advising appointment with the Baker School. Students seeking an internal transfer must have a cumulative UTK GPA of 2.5 or higher.

Scholarship Opportunity

Students planning to graduate before Spring 2027 are not eligible to major in public affairs, but are encouraged to consider minors in public affairs, public policy analytics, or civics.

Please plan on attending your regularly scheduled advising appointment in addition to the Baker School advising to prevent a delay in registration.

Public Affairs Major

Scholarship Opportunity

Current students who switched majors to Public Affairs for Fall 2024 are encouraged to apply for the Baker School Inaugural Class Scholarship. Students will be considered for up to $4,500 awarded over three years. Students will be considered on a rolling basis throughout the summer.
