Andrew Balthrop is an assistant professor in The Baker School of Public Policy & Public Affairs and the Department of Supply Chain Management at the University of Tennessee. He earned his doctorate in economics from the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University. His research focuses on the intersection of freight transportation, supply chains, and public policy, specializing in empirical analysis of environmental and safety regulation within the trucking industry. Balthrop’s research has appeared in the Journal of Operations Management, Journal of Business Logistics, Energy Economics, and Resource and Energy Economics, among others, and has been cited in national policy debates and industry publications.
